How to Water Glass Eggs

Make eggs last one year or longer without refrigeration - water glassing!

This method is old. Been around for centuries. Was used before refrigeration technology.

Eggs must be fresh, unrefrigerated, without cracks.

Supplies needed

  • Farm fresh eggs - unwashed, without soil

  • A clean glass jar

  • Water

Instructions

Carefully stack eggs in the jar.

Mix one quart of water with one ounce of pickling lime.

Pour liquid mixture into jar, covering the eggs.

Store on a shelf. Check in a few months.

Eggs will not pickle. They can be used like regular eggs, because that's what they are.
